HVC has organized its various corporate activities in collection companies, processing companies and energy companies.

The collection companies collect household waste and provide related services, such as pest control and gritting. 

The processing companies process the waste that is collected. Depending on the type of waste (organic, household, bulky, or commercial) the most suitable form of processing is chosen: sorting, composting or incinerating. 

The energy companies produce heat and electricity from waste that cannot be recycled or reused
