Sortiva - HVC Groep
Recycling company Sortiva is a joint venture between GP Groot and HVC. It has facilities in Alkmaar, Emmeloord, Halfweg, Middenmeer and Wognum.
In 2005, HVC and GP Groot combined their recycling activities in Sortiva, which has since then been a major player in the recycling market.
High-grade products
Each year, Sortiva recycles 92,000 tonnes of building and demolition waste, 10,000 of sortable commercial waste, 70,000 tonnes of bulky household waste, 252,500 tonnes of rubble and 150,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard. It processes 165,000 tonnes of waste wood to produce reusable raw material or high-grade fuel for bioenergy plants. And, finally, it processes 75,000 tonnes of green waste to make high-quality compost.
Paper recycling
Sortiva’s market position was further strengthened at the beginning of 2006 when it acquired 50% of the shares in the paper recycling activities of Roele de Vries. With operations in Wognum, Alkmaar and Nieuw-Vennep, this company serves the North and South Holland markets.
