Cyclas - HVC Groep

VOF Cyclas is a joint venture between HVC and Feniks Recycling BV. It sells the residues released when the waste is incinerated, such as bottom ash and metals.

Each year, Cyclas upgrades approximately 225,000 tonnes of untreated bottom ash for use as an aggregate in road building. Fly ash is mainly used as filler for asphalt concrete. 

Semi-finished products
Cyclas sells the approximately 18,000 tonnes of ferrous metals that are produced each year for reuse in the steel production process at Corus in IJmuiden.  Non-ferrous metals (stainless steel and metals that do not contain iron; approximately 3,300 tonnes a year) are upgraded and sold as semi-finished products. After further upgrading (in which the various metals, such as aluminium, copper and brass are sorted) the materials are used to manufacture metal products, such as aluminium window frames and garden furniture, and copper pipes and cables.
