Residual waste - HVC Groep
We operate modern waste incinerators in Alkmaar and Dordrecht. Both plants are certified to the ISO 9001 QMS standard and the ISO 14001 EMS standard.
The incinerator in Alkmaar has four lines which are in operation around the clock and process 660,000 tonnes of waste each year. The plant in Dordrecht also has four lines, processing 210,000 tonnes of waste each year. This plant is being modernized and expanded with a fifth line which will eventually replace the older lines 2 and 3.
A number of residues are left after incineration of the waste: bottom ash, fly ash, flue gas purification residue (salts and filter cake) and ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Except for the salts and flue gas purification residue, of which a proportion is landfilled in a controlled fashion, these residues are fully recycled or reused.
We strive to ensure high operational reliability and excellent environmental performance of both waste-to-energy plants.
Waste can be supplied to the plant in Alkmaar Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and in Dordrecht Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
