Key figures by activity 

Collection of household waste
HVCinzameling (Flevocollect) collects waste from approximately 55,000 households in Lelystad, Zeewolde and Noordoostpolder.

HVCinzameling (HollandCollect) collects waste from 117,500 households in eastern
West Friesland, the Wieringermeer and the top of North Holland.

ReinUnie collects waste from the businesses and approximately 64,000 households in Beverwijk, Heemskerk and Velsen. 

From January 1, 2009, HVCinzameling will also be collecting waste in the municipalities of Bergen and Den Helder.

Composting & Recycling
HVCcompostering processes 130,000 tonnes of organic waste to produce 55,000 tonnes of compost each year.
 

Sortiva (50:50 owned by HVC and GP Groot) recycles 92,000 tonnes of building and demolition waste, 10,000 tonnes of sortable commercial waste, 70,000 tonnes of bulky household waste, 252,000 tonnes of rubble and 15,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard each year. In addition, Sortiva processes 165,000 tonnes of waste wood to produce recyclable raw materials or high-quality fuel for bioenergy plants, and 75,000 tonnes of green waste to make high-grade compost.  

Cyclas (50:50 owned by HVC and Feniks) recycles the ferrous and non-ferrous metals and upgrades the bottom ash that remains after incineration. 

Incineration & Energy Production
HVCafvalcentrale Alkmaar burns more than 340,000 tonnes of household waste and 320,000 tonnes of commercial waste each year. With this it generates 68 MW of electricity and 50 MW of heat.  
HVCafvalcentrale Dordrecht processes approximately 210,000 tonnes of waste each year, of which almost 127,000 tonnes is household waste. With this it generates 9.5 MW of electricity. After modernization it will process 365,000 tonnes of waste and produce 30 MW of electricity. 

HVCenergie supplies various customers and partners with renewable electricity produced by burning waste. 

MeerWarmte (50:50 owned by Nuon Warmte and HVC) distributes the residual heat to businesses at the Boekelermeer business estate in Alkmaar and to football club AZ’s DSB Stadium, also in Alkmaar.
